In the past years, we have seen the global pandemic impact all areas of business and enjoyment. With limited access to doing some of my favorite things, I was approached by a company with an idea to help make up for lost time. THR1FT Market is a tech organization that is bringing thrifting to the power of your hands.

With just an idea and a first round of funding, we got to work to create what has become a legitimate company in one of the Tech Hubs in the world, Los Angeles. Using my understanding of working in the Tech Industry for +5 years and developing a team that scales, we have since gained more than 150k of additional funding, partnered with groups like the Slauson & Co. Accelerator, conducted research with our users around the United States, and are now working with an agency to help continue to turn this idea into a reality.

From Photoshop to reality

The first step creating the actual app was creating renditions of the different screens. Designing in FIGMA and photoshop, we created multiple screens for the buyers perspective.

In this second flow, I have further defined the other purchasing types that a user may engage in. With a large part of the user experience defined and mapped out, the next steps were fully designing the rest of the pages for the application.

Taking peoples ideas and helping turn them into reality has always been a process that has been very fulfilling to me. In this project, using Photoshop, Illustrator, and FIGMA, I was able to help turn an idea from pen on paper to a funded company.

With an understanding of User Flows and how it connects to UX/UI, I helped create a comprehensive mock up and flow chart for both the Buyer and Seller experience for the company. After consulting and collaborating with a UX/UI designer, we entered into the stages of prototyping our new creation in FIGMA.

With the next step being getting the creation coded and fully built out, I have helped the company Executives relay their wants and have worked directly to 8Base, a Techstars-backed company, that creates full stack low-code development platform for building, running and scaling powerful, feature-rich digital products such as SaaS solutions and marketplaces, internal tools and other web and mobile applications.

FIGMA & WOrk with 8Base

In our next, and most recent step, we have started our work directly with 8Base to develop our backend and frontend platform. Having brought a prototype of the customer facing application to the table, we started creating the final iterations of different screens, including the Administrative Dashboard.

Working mainly in FIGMA, I have collaborated with the design department of 8Base to help develop this application into completion. Following a timeline given to us by the agency, I have worked with 3-day turn around deadlines, continuing to innovate with the product roadmap directly with the companies engineer and product development teams. With launch only a few months out, this project has helped me better understand developing a tech company from scratch, including pushing for funding, creating presentation decks, and soon, marketing the live tool. I am proud of the impact I have had on this project.

BRANDING, ICON, and Asset CREATION

While I enjoy being apart of the entire process, I always take pride in how impactful I can be from a Branding development stand point. Creating Icons, backgrounds, and graphics for the Website and Application, I have taken inspiration from my love for space to help create a brand that will break into new frontiers. Developing this brand in alignment to an entire the lore created by our founders, I am excited to continue to help roll out and market the new discoveries of this application.
